May 2010:


Pupils from The Lynden School of Dance and The Dance Academy achieved exceptionally high marks in their recent examinations.  Out of a total of 75 exams taken, 74 were awarded distinctions with 38 of those achieving a score of 90% or above.


The pupils, aged 5-17 years, took exams from grades preparatory to five in Classical Ballet, Tap, and Modern Jazz; The Dance Academy achieved a centre score of 100% and has been awarded a Centre of Excellence by their examination body, The British Theatre Dance Association (BTDA).

April 2010:


Congratulations to Charlotte Player, Heather Gosby and Stephanie Beaver for passing their intermediate Modern/jazz exams.


Also, special mention to Hannah Phillips, Katie McGregor-Moore and Bethany Honnor. All three girls have taken both grade four and five Modern jazz exams within a four month period and passed them all with distinction. Very well done!



Burghfield Festival Dates 2010/2011

The Burghfield Festival of Dance will now take place twice a year.  This festival offers the dancers a great opportunity to measure their progress against other local dancers.  Dates are as follows:

November 2010  13th/14th & 20th /21st

June 2011 11th/12th & 18th/19th

November 2011 19th/20th & 26th/27th.



Danceforce 2011

Will be staged at the Anvil Theatre in Basingstoke on 2nd and 3rd July 2011.  Further details to follow.



St Luke’s Hall Overton refurbishment.  The hall will be closed to us from 9th July 2010. See Diary for details and the special page on the Hall.



Updated Web Site

Includes new gallery to provide more control over images, new enrolment forms, a new message board, a uniform shop and loads of updates.  Let us know what you think!!  From July, the plan is to be able to use e-mail and the web site for all communication - including invoices with payment via PayPal.


Charrlotte Passes Exam

Congratulations to Charlotte Player who has recently passed a HSE (Health and Safety Executive) 3-Day First Aid at Work Qualification valid for 3 years.  Subjects covered include: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, dealing with heart attacks, adult and child chocking, bleeding, bandaging, treatment for burns, soft tissue injuries, fractures, and many medical conditions.
