We are offering students from The Lynden School of Dance and The Dance Academy a fantastic opportunity to perform at one of the most prestigious theatres in the world, Sadler's Wells.
Sadler's Wells Theatre has a rich history in the performing arts that can be dated back to as early as 1683 and has become world renowned as "the home of dance". It was completely rebuilt and refurbished in 1996 to make it the most technically advanced venue in the United Kingdom.
The children will not only be appearing on a prestigious stage but will also be given an insight into how a theatre operates and will be allocated the same dressing rooms used by actual West End cast members.
To qualify for a place, students must be at least 6 years old and be at a minimum of a Primary graded dance level (they must have passed their Preparatory examinations).
The students will learn two routines to perform. Rehearsals will commence on Sunday 5th February until Sunday 8th April (Easter Sunday) at Basingstoke Sports Centre at 3pm for one hour.
The total cost of the rehearsals will be £50 per student which will be invoiced in 2 instalments of £25.
Parents will be invoiced for the two costumes which are estimated to cost £25 -
The production company insist that all dancers and their chaperones travel to and from the theatre together as one group by coach. Parents will be invoiced nearer the time for the coach fare (£18-
If there is enough interest, further coaches will be provided for spectators. Fares will be about £15 per person. and places will be strictly limited. Please register your interest as soon as possible via email to lyndendance@aol.com.
The children will spend the day in the theatre rehearsing and learning the finale, ready for their afternoon performance.
This is a wonderful opportunity for the students to experience first hand, working and performing in a professional environment and leave with magical memories that will last a lifetime!
